Flowers of the hazel

Image of Hazel

Description:

The hazel (Corylus avellana) is one of the most common species in the Belarusian forest underbush. In early spring, and sometimes even on February in warm winters, it begins to bloom as you can see on the photo. In Belarus its inflorescences are often called as "earrings" because they hung down from the branches.
