Street lights provide them with good foraging opportunities along the streets and sidewalks, while some gardens provide suitable breeding space. The call may be territorial. In this case it starts with a series of some 26 equally spaced notes that increase in volume, switching to 5 loud double notes, and 3 loud triple notes. During late winter and spring they are prone to call near midnight, whether there is moon light or not. As the breeding season nears, they call more frequently at any time of the night.
