Description:
Description: English: Naja nivea, a male Cape cobra, seen in a road near Calvinia, South Africa. This one's speckled pattern is unusually regular. Date: 12 June 2014, 13:17:52. Source: Own work. Author: JonRichfield. Camera location31° 30′ 14.4″ S, 19° 40′ 48″ E View all coordinates using: OpenStreetMap-31.504000; 19.680000. The relatively long tail and slender build suggest that it is a male. The specimen was mature, but not fully grown, being about 1 metre long; some achieve nearly twice that length. It is retreating and hooding in defensive reaction to the presence of the cameraman.
