Description: Native, annual or perennial, woody, rigidly erect, hairy herb 10–40 cm tall. Leaves are cuneate or oblanceolate and 10–25 mm long; margins are entire or have 2 small lateral lobes. Heads are 5–8 mm long ray florets are female, 1–3-seriate and pale blue to mauve; disc florets are tubular, bisexual and yellow. Achenes are linear to oblanceolate, ridged and 4–7, with pappus bristles 4–8 mm long. Flowering occurs in spring and summer; sometimes after rain in a warmer autumn.
