English: Stereospermum kunthianum is a species of plant belonging to the Bignoniaceae family. It is a tree or shrub with pink flowers grouped in loose panicles. In the atacora the leaves are eaten by cattle. It also lends magical powers to this plant: thus, a branch planted in the entrance of a house would bring visitors and friends; the bark of an isolated tree would get rid of a woman; belted fruit would ward off disease.
