Description:

Description: Like all annual Boraginaceae, species of Amsinckia prefer open arid sites that are regularly disturbed (e.g., roadsides). This species is distinguished from other common Amsinckias (e.g., Amsinckia tessellate) by its corolla that lacks fornices (the callus tissue between the tube and limb), calyx with five rather than four lobes, and nutlets with a tuberculate rather than smooth surface.
