Description: So here we are then, these are Chain Dogfish. Again, like the Whitespotted Bamboo Sharks, these guys too preferred to crowd together one atop the other despite there being plenty of free space in the rest of the tank. Surprisingly, The Chain Dogfish (Scyliorhinus retifer) is also called Chain Catshark. This is a small, reticulated catshark that is biofluorescent. The species is common in the West Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico from George's Bank in Massachusetts, to Nicaragua. It is harmless and rarely encountered by humans.
