Stems are few and usually 10-20 cm tall. Leaves are oppositely arranged, oblong to ovate, hairy and 10-20 mm long. Flowerheads are short, dense spikes. Flowers (6-8 mm long) have a small upper lip and a larger lower lip of 3 fused petals; the lower lip is prominent and pink, with a white base. Flowering is from spring to autumn. Found along watercourses and roadsides, in rocky places and short grasslands, as well as the understorey of open woodlands. Native biodiversity.
