Description: I was hoping some of them would come closer so that I could take a better look. (they did eventually!). Sightings of Borneo Pygmy Elephants had been a regular feature in the old Uncle Tan jungle camp. In the new camp, where I visited, there had been only one accidental sighting over the past three odd years, so much so that the camp did not even list the animal in their spotting list. I simply had to see this elephant species before leaving Sabah, hence this zoo visit. More notes about the Borneo Pygmy Elephant appear in subsequent photographs.
