Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.Phoenix roebelenii OBrien. Arecaceae. CN: [Malay - Kurma rubelini], Miniature date palm, Pygmy date palm, Roebelin palm. Native to southeastern Asia from southwestern China (Yunnan Province), northern Laos and northern Vietnam. Small single-stemmed palm, monoecious reaching up to 2-3 m. Leaf pinnate ca 1-1.5 m, curved, green. Leaflets linear, induplicate, underside glaucus, Leaflets at base of fronds short torns or torn-like. Spadix produced from frond axils. Fruit ovoid ca 5 mm diameter, reddish changing yellow at maturity and black when ripe.
