2010.04.24 Austria, Lower Austria, district Bruck/Leitha (Braunsberg southern flank, 240 m AMSL).Flowering in april/may.This one is significantly smaller than Stipa pennata - the latter is much more common and grows on semi-arid soil too, while this one prefers very dry and rocky pastures like this one here on Braunsberg.Rare.German name: FedergrasID: Fischer & al., Exkursionsflora (2008 3rd): mentions 2 subspecies (subsp. austriaca and subsp. eriocaulis), but as this source says that they aren't fully accepted yet I'm only tagging binomial
