If it were not growing also on a disjunct place in south Dinaric Mountains it would be endemic to relatively small area of extreme northeast Italy, narrow band in south most Austria and East Julian Alps in Slovenia. The species can often be found hanging on vertical faces of large boulders and rocky walls. The best trait to recognize it are its very long (as long as corolla or longer!) and thin sepals, sharply bend backwards. Note its leaves. Ground rosette leaves are small, almost round with cordate (heart formed) bases. They are often only a few or already dry at the time of anthesis (flowering time). The lowest few stem leaves can be narrow-elliptic or lanceolate. All others, the majority, are lineal, much, much longer than wide. Ref.:(1) D. Aeschimann, K. Lauber, D.M. Moser, J.P.
