2011-10-21 Vienna XI. district, Albern - Cemetary of the Nameless Dead (159 msm Quadrant 7865/1).German name: Amerika-GleditschiePod and leaves.Native to Northern America, and cultivated here in Austria in parks; it is not a very common ornamental plant and also not invasive (not yet at least). Ordinarily they have long, sharp thorns - and this one has -, but usually (and for obvious reasons, see photos of thorns linked below) thornless cultivars are preferred.
