Description:
An endemic genus of 5 species to the Hawaiian Islands. This species was originally found on several islands, but now is only known in the wild from an area in the military training base between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island at 1585m. This small outplanted population where these photos were taken, is within the Kipuka Nene exclosure in the National Park at around 2900ft/884m. Endangered.
