Lath. 478. n. 34.". Notes: This is one of the water-colour drawings made by Georg Forster during James Cook's second voyage to the Pacific in 1772-1775. The watercolour is listed by Sharpe 1906, p. 184 and by Lysaght 1959 p. 289 as Plate 71. This is the number written on the right-hand side of the watercolour. The NHM lists this watercolour as Plate 69. John Latham based his description of the "Georgia duck" on this picture by Forster.(Latham, 1785, p. 478).
