A large Chiromantis from dry savanna in northern Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia. Lateral area covered by folded limbs shows dark freckling which extends ventrally to a dark matrix between lighter colored granulations of the abdominal skin. Darkening also on inner surface of femur. Half of the rows of vomerine teeth extending behind the posterior level of the choanae. Broad web extends 40-70% of the distance between the tubercles of the third finger.Formerly considered a subspecies of C. petersii before Poynton's (2000) examination of the forms from Eastern Africa.
