Maximum longevity: 4.4 years
Observations: It was shown that the average lifespan of the Turkish hamster is increased by hibernation. One good hibernator lived 4.4 years (Lyman et al. 1981). Their average lifespan has been suggested to be 2-3 years (Ronald Nowak 1999).
