Geranium nervosum Rydb. Bull. Torrey Club 28 : 34. 1901 Perennial, the caudex branched. Stems tufted, scape-like, with the first internode elongate, 4-7 dm. long, finely pubescent with short retrorse hairs ; leaf-blades 9-18 cm. broad, or rarely smaller, 3-5-parted, the divisions cleft or lobed, the primary veins prominent beneath ; petioles of the basal leaves elongate, pubescent like the stem ; pedicels with gland-tipped villous-hirsute hairs ; sepals awn-tipped, the outer ones 13-15 mm. long, the bodies oblong, densely pubescent and glandular-ciliate ; petals pinkish with magenta veins, 19-24 mm. long ; style-column 25-30 mm. long, stout, glandular-hirsute ; carpelbodies 6-8 mm. long, minutely glandular-pubescent ; seeds reticulate.
Type locality : Fish Creek, Teton Forest Reserve, nortlnvestern Wyoming. Distribution : Wyoming to Oregon and Colorado.

Geranium viscosissimum F. & M. Ind. Sem. Hort. Petrop 11 ; Suppl. 18. 1846. Perennial, the caudex simple. Stems scape-like, 2.5-6 dm. long, the first internode elongate, villous-hirsute with viscid glandular hairs ; leaf-blades pentagonal in outline, 4-11 cm. wide, more or less copiously hirsute, 3-5-parted, the divisions sharply and irregularly incised; pedicels glandular-villous ; sepals awn-tipped, the outer ones 12-15 mm. long, the bodies oblong to oblong-lanceolate, finely hirsute, ciliate ; petals pink-purple, 17-20 mm. long; style-column 25-35 mm. long, about 2 mm. thick, glandular-pubescent; carpel-bodies 4.5-5 mm. long, glandular-pilose, hirsute, especially near the top ; seeds delicately reticulate.
Type locality : Western North America.
Distribution : South Dakota to British Columbia and Wyoming.
