Anemone nemorosaWood Anemone, Busch-WindrschenSlo.: podlesna vetrnicaDat.: May 07. 2013Lat.: 46.27367 Long.: 13.47982Code: Bot_710/2013_IMG3155Habitat: Alpine pasture, calcareous ground, partly stony grassland, almost flat terrain on top of rounded mountain ridge; open, humid, windswept place, full sun; exposed to direct rain; elevation 1.380 m (4.500 feet), average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 4-6 deg C, alpine phytogeographical region. Substratum: soil.Place: Breginjski Stol ridge, near Planina Boca, East Julian Alps, Posoje, Slovenia EC Comments: This early spring flower is very common in Slovenia. On some places in light woods it reaches almost 100% ground coverage with thousands and thousands of flowers, a really wonderful display after winter. One can find it from low level plains up to almost subalpine elevations; however it always requires quite moist ground. Anemone nemorosa grows in Europe only. Beautiful but poisonous plant!Ref.:(1) M.A. Fischer, W. Adler, K. Oswald, Exkursionsflora Oesterreich Liechtenstein, Suedtirol, LO Landesmuseen, Linz, Austria (2005), p 310.(2) A. 2010.04.07 Austria, Lower Austria, district Baden (270 m AMSL).Both flowering in (march) april, usually A. nemorosa a week or two earlier than A. ranunculoides - however, this is difficult to tell because they rarely grow in the same habitat, as is the case here: A. nemorosa prefers more hilly area while A. ranunculoides is dominating in the woodlands of the plains.German names: Gelbes Windrschen, Buschwindrschen

2011-04-16 Lower Austria, district Wien-Umgebung (near road; 318 msm Quadrant 7862/1).German name: Gelb-WindrschenOn this place A. ranunculoides had two or three flowers on each stem - this goes for the whole population in this place; more typical would be one or two at maximum (e. g. in Danube alluvial forests; there, most only have one flower, and while you find plenty which have two one of them usually is smaller than the other one).

1975, 25. Dez.
