Polydora lingshuiensis Ye, Tang, Wu, Su, Wang, Yu & Wang 2015

Habitat

provided by World Register of Marine Species
The authors state P. lingshuiensis "inhabits both shell burrows and mudtubes" with the mudtubes both on shell and on structures. However, when this occurs with Polydora-group species it can be an indication that the species is epifaunal but opportunistically secondarily using existing borings on the bivalve shells. That this is likely in this case is suggested by the author's comment that "P. lingshuiensis was commonly found co-occurring with Polydora haswelli Blake and Kudenov, 1978 in calcareous burrows"
