Brief Summary
provided by Ecomare
Gobies are benthic inhabitants. They are small, have a short life span a typically large head, two dorsal fins and joined pelvic fins. They live in shallow water from the end of the summer through the autumn and migrate in the winter to deeper water where they spawn in the spring. Gobies eat small crustaceans and fish larvae and form prey for many coastal birds and larger fish.
