Trees or shrubs. Stipules small. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets alternate without translucent dots or streaks.
Flowers in lateral racemes. Calyx spherical, entire before dehiscence; disk 0. Petal 1. Stamens numerous (>30), arranged in several rows at base of calyx, free or ± so. Pod indehiscent, cylindric or beaded, woody.
