A rather small Hyperolius (males 21-23 mm) from grasslands at higher altitudes in southern Tanzania, similar to H. pusillus but larger, with more reduced webbing and a different voice and calling site. Dorsum green with a varying number of diffuse black dots. A light dorsolateral line is present. Throat in males yellow, ventrum white, discs yellow. Pupil horizontal.
