Morphology

Brachionus caudatus is considered as one of the most variable species of the genus. The typical form is characterised by body length to width ratio > 1; anterodorsal margin with two central spines separated by a sinus; undulate ventral margin; posterior spines long, slightly curved inwards and arising from a posterior narrowness of the body.
