Scilla hyacinthoides is one of the imporessive bulbs of the eastern Mediterranean. It grows in dense populations fored by vegetative propagation (the bulb is producing many bulbils). For some reason many plants do not bloom, perhaps absorbing more energy to bloom once in 2-3 years.
