More or less stemless perennial herb, usually solitary. Leaves are in a dense rosette, dull green or tinged reddish, margins with orange teeth. Inflorescences 1-3, usually simple, rarely branched. Flowers in a distinctly down-curved dense raceme, orange-red to bright red.
