Aphyllanthes monspeliensis L. è una pianta della famiglia delle Asparagacee.^[1] È l'unica specie nota del genere Aphyllantes.L. e della sottofamiglia Aphyllanthoideae Lindl..^[2]

Questa specie è endemica della regione mediterranea centro-occidentale.^[1]

Il Sistema Cronquist includeva questa specie tra le Liliaceae.^[3]

In precedenza la sottofamiglia Aphyllanthoideae era considerata come famiglia separata, Aphyllanthaceae^[2].

La classificazione APG IV la riconosce come sottofamiglia della famiglia Asparagaceae.^[4]
