Tocoyena formosa is a species of tree in the family Rubiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Amazônia, Tocantins, Pará, Paraná, GoiáS, Bahia, Rio Grande Do Norte, Mata Atlântica, Caatinga, Pernambuco, Distrito Federal, Alagoas, RondôNia, Maranhao, Rio De Janeiro, Amapá, Piauí, Mato Grosso, ParaíBa, Minas Gerais, Ceará, Sergipe, SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, and Cerrado. They have simple, broad leaves.
