Lachnanthes caroliniana (Bloodroot) is a species of perennial herb in the family Haemodoraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Augochloropsis sumptuosa, Coelioxys octodentata, Lasioglossum coreopsis, and White-footed Leaf-cutter Bee.
