Brachypelma smithi (Mexican Red Knee Tarantula) is a species of spiders in the family tarantulas. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are native to The Nearctic and The Neotropics. They are solitary, diurnal carnivores. They have parental care (female provides care).
