Polyodon spathula (American Paddlefish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family paddlefishes. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN, as extirpated by COSEWIC, and in cites appendix ii. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Nearctic. Individuals can grow to 221 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
