Trilobed Lip Barbel

Head large; snout conical; lips extremely thick and rolled upward; barbels 2 pairs. Last unbranched ray of dorsal fin strong and serrated on hind edge, with a forward declined spine at the front of dorsal fin; anal fin long, extending to base of caudal fin.

Found in the middle and lower reaches of rivers, underneath rocks in deep water.

Inhabits rivers.

Parator zonatus, the trilobed-lip barbel, is a species of cyprinid fish found in the Zhujiang River in China and Vietnam. It is the only member of its genus.
