Distinct pairs breed on densely grown weedy places (Ref. 205). Males are sexually mature at 1 year while the females become mature at 2 years. Reproduction is from November to March with a peak from December to March. The female spawns 100,000 to 200,000 eggs (Ref. 12225).

Leporinus acutidens is a species of Leporinus widely found in the Amazon River basin and Guiana rivers in South America. It has been reported in Argentina.[1]

This species can reach a length of 33.0 centimetres (13.0 in) SL.[1]

L. acutidens reproduces between November and March. Females become sexually mature after two year and males after one year. Females can produces 100,000 to 200,000 eggs when spawning.[1]
