Alaena subrubra is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in southern Sudan, northern Uganda and the Central African Republic.[2]
The larvae have been reported feeding on Rhus species, but this seems highly doubtful.

Alaena subrubra is een vlinder uit de familie van de Lycaenidae.[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1915 door Bethune-Baker.
