Pterochaeta (plant genus)

Pterochaeta is a monotypic[2][3] plant genus in the Asteraceae family,[1] endemic to Western Australia.[4][3] It was first described in 1845 by Joachim Steetz and its only species is Pterochaeta paniculata.[1][5]

It has been found to be a symptomless host of the pathogen, Phytophthora cinnamomi.[6]

Pterochaeta es un género monotípico de plantas con flores perteneciente a la familia de las asteráceas. Su única especie: Pterochaeta paniculata,[1]​ es originaria de Australia.

Descripción

Es una hierba anual erecta, lanosa que alcanza un tamaño de 0.03-0.18 m de altura. Las flores son de color amarillo, floreciendo en julio-noviembre en suelos de arena, arcilla o grava y suelos lateríticos. Se encuentra en Australia Occidental.[2]

Taxonomía

Pterochaeta paniculata fue descrita por Joachim Steetz y publicado en Plantae Preissianae 1(4) 1845[3]
