Plants annual, 30-50 cm tall. Stem erect, simple, rarely branched. Leaves alternate; petiole ca. 2 cm, slender; leaf blade ovate-orbicular or ovate-lanceolate, 3-6 × 2-3 cm, lateral veins 4 or 5 pairs, base broadly cuneate, margin coarsely serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex caudate-acuminate. Inflorescences axillary, 1- or 2-flowered; peduncles 4-5 cm, slender. Pedicels bracteate at base; bracts lanceolate, small. Flowers yellow, medium-sized, 2-5 cm. Lateral sepals 2, ovate, apex mucronulate. Lower sepal navicular or saccate, narrowed into an incurved, slender spur. Upper petal broadly orbicular, ca. 2 cm, abaxial midvein carinate; lateral united petals 2-lobed; basal lobes ovate, apex rounded; distal lobes dolabriform, apex rounded. Filaments linear, short; anthers obtuse. Capsule linear. Fl. Aug-Sep, fr. Sep-Oct.
