This tuberous plant belongs to the berberis plant family. It has delicate flowers and beautiful pinnate leaves. It grows in deep soils in fields, but also in rocky places like this one. Its leaves sprout typically some distance from the blooming stem.
Bongardia chrysogonum is a tuberous plant with beautiful leaves (seeen in the pictures) and yellow flowers (not open in the picture). I was happy to see the plant just popping out of the soil, it will bloom in a month or so.
