Plants 30-70 cm tall, villous; hairs white. Leaves pinnate; pinnae oval to ovate, lobed, both surfaces covered with long white hairs; margin crenate to serrate. Involucre of 1-5 linear bracts or lacking. Rays 5-15, covered with long white hairs. Calyx teeth small, linear. Ovary densely hairy. Fruit elliptic, 8 mm long, 6 mm broad, puberulous, slightly narrowed at the base, retuse at the apex; vittae filiform, extending 2/3 of the length of the fruit; the dorsal and the intermediate ridges prominent.
