Platypedia falcata is known from Arizona, California, Oregon, Texas, and extreme southern Washington (U.S.A.), although its known distribution within this broad range is quite patchy. It is found in several ecosystems, including forests of the Chihuahuan Desert, the Pacific coastal/Cascadian forests, intermountain forests, California forests, and chaparral.
