provided by BioPedia
The type species is C. denticulata Issi, Radischcheva and Dolzhenko, 1983 in the gut (probable site of infection) of pupae and adults of Delia floralis (Diptera, Muscidae). Monomorphic, diplokaryotic throughout life cycle. Meiosis unknown. Transmission unknown. Merogony: unknown. Sporogony: disporoblastic, rarely tetra-sporoblastic. Spores, 4.8 x 2.8 µm, elongate ovoid and binucleate. The spore envelope forms a thick, collar-like ring consisting of several broad denticles, near the posterior end of the spore. During late spore maturation a thick, additional envelope occurs around the spore, giving the spore a bell-like shape. Comment: unsatisfactorily known genus. No ultrastructural data are available.
