Leontopithecus rosalia (Golden Lion Tamarin) is a species of primates in the family Callitrichidae. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are native to The Neotropics. They visit flowers of Symphonia globulifera and Combretum fruticosum. They are diurnal omnivores. Individuals are known to live for 297.6 months and can grow to 632 mm. They have parental care (female provides care, paternal care, and cooperative breeding).

They are threatened with extinction and CITES prohibits international trade in specimens of these species except when the purpose of the import is not commercial, for instance for scientific research.
