CRUSTACEA ISOPODA PORCELLIONIDAE Acaeroplastes melanurus (Budde-Lund) is one of 27 woodlouse species in Ireland. Its main distribution is Mediterranean – southern France, Corsica and Spain, and it was discovered on a headland of Eastern Ireland in 1909. It was not found there after 1934, and hence considered extinct in the British Isles, but was refound in 2002, and later confirmed in a more extensive search.
