Genetta genetta (Common Genet) is a species of mammals in the family viverrids. They are native to Ethiopia, Algeria, Zambia, Chad, Benin, South Africa, Tunisia, Zimbabwe, Niger, Morocco, Egypt, Angola, Yemen, Gambia, Mali, Namibia, Guinea, Lesotho, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Oman, Côte d’Ivoire, Uganda, Djibouti, Libya, the Palearctic, Senegal, Nigeria, Eritrea, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, and Botswana. They are solitary, nocturnal omnivores. Individuals are known to live for 408 months and can grow to 552.4400000000001 mm. They rely on arboreal (locomotion) and running to move around.
