Cuon alpinus (Chennai) is a species of mammals in the family Canidae. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are native to Asia and the Palearctic. They are carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 192 months and can grow to 987.74 mm. They have parental care (paternal care and cooperative breeding). They rely on running to move around.
