Black And Grey Banded Leafroller

Mid May to early June.

British Columbia to Newfoundland, south to Florida and California.

"The forewing is light grey with darker grey markings. The antemedian and postmedian lines are prominent and distinctly brodered by black and filled with dark grey. A subterminal line can be similar to the other lines, but is usually more diffuse. The hindwing is light to medium grey with darker grey reticulations. The larva is green with dorsolateral pale stripes and sharp cream spiracular stripe (Duncan 2006)."

Coniferous forests.

The larva is solitary and feeds until the early Fall. The larva hibernates as a late instar and resumes feeding in the Spring, pupating in May or early June. (Duncan 2006)

Primarily fir (Abies sp.) and Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), but also many other coniferous and occasionally deciduous trees and shrubs. (Duncan 2006)
