Calephelis wrighti is a year-round resident in southern California up to southern Nevada (Scott 1986). Habitats are desert washes and canyons. Host plants are restricted to one herbaceous species, Bebbia juncea (Compositae). Eggs are laid on the host plant singly. There are multiple flights each year with the approximate flight time Feb1-Dec30, though mostly Mar1-Oct30 (Scott 1986).

Adults sip hostplant flower nectar. Males both perch patrol for females (Scott, 1986).
