Two of the syntypes of this species (USNM 18185) were collected from the southwest point of the Azuero Peninsula (Centroid Latitude: 7.16250, Centroid Longitude: -80.83333), eastern Pacific, Panama, by the R. V. Albatross, from a depth of 589 m.
