Eggs are oblong capsules with stiff pointed horns at the corners deposited in sandy or muddy flats (Ref. 205). Egg capsules are 3.5-4.8 cm long and 2.5-3.0 cm wide (Ref. 41249, 41298).

分布於日本中部和南部、朝鮮西南部、中國黃海和東海沿海。

體盤呈菱形；吻尖，背部頭長是兩眼距離的5.33－6.36倍。尾鰭前的尾長為全長16.5－21.1%，為全尾長之34.4－43.7%。雄魚項棘1－2個，雌魚1或3個且時常排列成三角形；眼眶刺為5－6個；雄魚尾巴棘刺3列，雌魚3或5列。雌魚上排牙齒38－43列，雄魚36-41列。兩背鰭等大，分開的距離為第一背鰭基部長的一半，有時則超過。尾鰭一般大，其高度比側邊皺褶還大，側褶狹窄，接近尾的根部。嘴呈拱形，嘴寬為嘴前長45.7－58.1%；兩鼻間距為鼻前長度之57.5－63.5%；第一鰓裂間的距離為背部頭長之74.4－83.5%。背部體色呈深咖啡色，吻部附近呈半透明，背部有許多小黃點散布，胸鰭中央的後面有一對小白點，浸漬福馬林後白點變暗。腹面的腹部區不具有感覺孔，多半聚集在胸鰭附近，呈V字型分布。(陳柔蓉、林沛立2012/11編寫)

屬近底棲息，棲息於沿岸水深約70~90公尺。
