Anguilla anguilla (European Eel) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family freshwater eels. They are listed as critically endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Atlantic Ocean, the Palearctic, and Mediterranean Sea. They are solitary, diurnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 150 cm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is oviparous and semelparous. They rely on swimming and anguilliform to move around.
