Belly with 4 to 7 small needle-like pre-pelvic scutes. Maxilla tip pointed, reaching to hind border of pre-operculum, the latter convex, rounded. Small teeth present on upper edge of hyoid bones. Pelvic fin tips not reaching to below dorsal fin origin. Anal fin short, its origin under front half of dorsal fin base.

Size

This species reaches a length of 9.0 cm (3.5 in).[2]
